Leather UK is committed to protecting the unique identity of leather as a sustainable and beautiful product and working together as one united sector to promote the UK leather brand at home and abroad.
The UK leather industry manufactures a diverse range of world class quality leather for numerous applications. We provide an array of services to our members, including business support and networking. We represent the entire UK leather industry at a national and international level through utilising our membership of affiliated organisations to broaden and add strength to our own representations in the UK and Europe.
We provide an information and enquiry service on issues affecting the industry; and have developed an online Leather UK Directory containing details of businesses, events and training opportunities, in addition to our member events programme operating several regional and national events annually.
We also produce consumer education campaigns; industry-focused PR and marketing. We influence education faculties to support and develop the next generation of leather technologists and design and fashion students. We are co-developing creative business incubator hubs to nurture emerging designers and craftspeople. The provision of our two industry trust funds enable individuals to apply for bursaries for industry-relevant training and travel.
Our members contribute to our work to protect the identity of leather, to challenge the mistruths spread by agenda organisations, to promote leather as a sustainable and beautiful product, and support our lobbying activities to ensure that the voice of industry is heard by government, both nationally and internationally
