Design-A-Bag (DAB) competition 2023 with the theme Modern and Classic. Design a modern bag with genuine leather that becomes classic and iconic in the future.

Design-A-Bag (DAB) is a unique design competition for designers and students. The finalists will be sponsored to attend the 2023 Special Edition of Fashion Access Dubai Fair, which is collocated with APLF – the most important international exhibition for the leather and fashion manufacturing industries. The Overall DAB Winner will be invited to attend a five-week bag design course in Milan, provided by the renowned Arsutoria School.

For 2023, the competition encourages designers to draw inspiration from classic fashion indicators to explore iconic bag designs for the future.

For the last two years, people around the globe have been experiencing numerous constraints and adopting technology to maintain connections with each other. The future will be different, it is time to disrupt the rules that had led us in the last two years to create something bold and timeless.

The world is changing, go sustainable and use natural materials

2. Draw inspiration from archives to celebrate classics with a touch of modernity
Break the existing rules that had navigated us in the past years. Discover new materials and structures to bring your bag design to life.

The 2023 prizes include:

• The three finalists will receive a free round-trip air ticket to Dubai to attend the Final Judging Ceremony during Fashion Access Dubai
• Each finalist will receive USD500 cash prize
• Opportunities to be featured in Leather Naturally and APLF.com
• A five-week bag design course at Arsutoria School, Milan, valued at USD4,900 plus a USD1,000 accommodation allowance at the School’s hotel for the Overall Winner
